Track filament on Bambu Lab automatically

In short: Spooly fetches your prints from the Bambu Lab Cloud, matches them to your spools via the AMS slots and deducts the grams. It works with all Bambu printers connected to the cloud and is free up to 20 spools. It doesn't work in pure LAN mode.

I develop Spooly on my own in Vienna. Spooly is an independent product and not part of Bambu Lab.

How it works

    Connect your Bambu account

    You sign in with email and password and enter the code from your email or app. Spooly only stores an encrypted token, not your password. If you sign in to Bambu with Google or Apple, set a password there first.

    Add your spools

    From the community catalog, by QR code or by hand, and with Pro also by photo. Then assign them to the AMS slots.

    Print

    Finished prints arrive within 30 minutes at the latest, and the usage comes off the spool in the matching slot. There is nothing to log afterwards.

What Spooly does

Printers
All Bambu printers with a cloud connection, including X1 Carbon, X1, P1S, P1P, A1, A1 Mini, P2S, H2S, H2D and H2C.
AMS
Slots with color, material and remaining weight, plus the external holder.
Grams per slot
These come from the slicer data the Bambu Cloud provides. They are calculated, not weighed, so a few grams of difference are normal.
Uncertain cases
Spooly books clear prints right away. Everything else goes to the review list, where you confirm it with one tap.
Also included
Maintenance log with analysis of Bambu error codes (HMS), cost per print, and a forecast of when a spool runs out.

What it can't do

  • In pure LAN mode nothing arrives, Spooly needs the cloud connection.
  • Prints from the SD card arrive without usage. You enter the grams yourself.
  • If the cloud provides no grams per slot for a multicolor print, Spooly splits the weight evenly and tells you so.
  • You sign in again every 3 months, Spooly reminds you 10 days before.
  • The Bambu Lab API is unofficial and can change at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Bambu connection cost anything?
No. It is free for everyone, including the Free plan with up to 20 spools. You only need Pro for more spools or for projects, orders and AI photo import.
Does Spooly work with spools from other brands?
Yes. The spool only has to exist in Spooly and be assigned to the slot, the brand doesn't matter.
Can Spooly control my printer?
No. Spooly reads prints and AMS assignments and doesn't start or change anything on the printer.
Isn't the Filament Manager in Bambu Studio enough?
It manages your spools inside Bambu Studio and Bambu Handy. Spooly adds to that if you also want to keep track of costs, storage locations, maintenance or printers from other brands.
